Mike Kofoed and a team of other researchers measured the impact of remote learning on students taking principles of economics courses at West Point. Students enrolled in the remote course saw an average of 1.5 percentage point drop in final their course grades compared to students who took the course in person.
This is particularly fascinating considering the fear many academics had prior to Covid that higher ed was going to become one large MOOC. It doesn't appear that this is a concern any longer.
